The notorious hacker group 888 has stolen 2,622 pieces of information belonging to Nokia employees. The data stolen and subsequently published on hacking forums by 888 includes names, job titles, company names, email addresses, direct and corporate phone numbers, sector, and geolocation.
The danger in stealing and making these data available to other hacker groups lies in the potential to compromise customer information, internal communications, and Nokia’s technological details.
Regarding the breach, Nokia has not released any official statement, but it is speculated that the hackers exploited vulnerabilities in Nokia’s network infrastructure.
In the meantime, Nokia experts have advised customers to monitor their accounts for unusual activity, change passwords, and enable two-factor authentication.
