On 10 July, the Shanghai Public Security Bureau inaugurated its Police Dog Technical Competition, which featured over 70 police dogs showcasing their abilities in a range of disciplines, including tracking, evidence search, blood detection, manhunt, drug detection, explosive detection, and basic obedience. Over ten breeds of police dogs participated in practical scenarios designed to assess the abilities of the K9 trainers in command coordination, tracking, and manhunting. The Shanghai police have been engaged in efforts to enhance the professional training of police dogs, standardise and apply canine technologies, and improve community safety.
