What happened

In three distinct events in the districts of Lakki Marwat, North, and South Waziristan, eight people, comprising five security personnel and three children, perished. As reported by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), a military officer was killed in a gunfight with militants from North Waziristan. During the gunfight, security forces successfully neutralized two militants, as reported by the ISPR. Additionally, three soldiers lost their lives in an attack, and 12 others sustained injuries in the South Waziristan district. In another incident in the Lakki Marwat district, a police officer and his three young nephews were killed, and a minor was injured when unidentified assailants fired upon their vehicle. Following the incident, a substantial police force was deployed to the area and initiated a search for the assailants. Members of the counterterrorism unit and investigative specialists were also present to gather evidence at the crime scene.
