Thailand: VBIED blast in Yala’s Bannang Sata district

According to the local police chief, an explosion occurred in front of a residential building at the Bannang Sata police station, near the border with Malaysia. A homemade explosive device hidden in a vehicle parked outside the building detonated, killing a woman and injuring 18 people. The explosion also damaged several houses and vehicles nearby. Officers cordoned off the scene and bomb disposal police were sent first to check for possible booby traps and prevent the detonation of a second device. However, no other explosive devices were found at the scene.
