What happened

NATO has organized CBRN training for over 800 armed forces members from 13 countries, including the United States, in the Hradiště area of the Czech Republic. The exercise, which used specialized equipment and harmless chemicals, aimed to simulate scenarios with toxic agents and weapons of mass destruction. Organized by the 31st CBRN Defense Regiment of the Czech Army in collaboration with NATO, the training verified the defensive capabilities of NATO units and improved interoperability. Major Radek Koštejn stressed the importance of including scenarios with radioactive agents due to current nuclear threats. After a break from 2018 due to the pandemic and commitments in Lithuania, these CBRN exercises will now be held every two years.
