Authorities report a suspected missile attack by Yemen’s Houthi rebels targeting a ship in the Gulf of Aden. The missile struck the water close to the ship off the coast of Aden, but the vessel was not hit, according to official sources. The United States Navy-supervised Joint Maritime Information Center has confirmed that there are no reported damages to the crew on board. Currently, the Houthis have not taken responsibility for the attack on the vessel.
Meanwhile, Houthi military spokesman General Yahya Saree has claimed responsibility for an attack on the MSC container ship Sarah V, alleging that a new ballistic missile was used in the assault, although no further evidence was provided. The rebels have reportedly targeted more than 60 ships in recent months in their campaign, firing missiles and drones that have killed a total of four sailors.
