What happened

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), a group of armed individuals, self-identified as ‘Ijaw Freedom Fighters’, attacked the Imariogha community near the Okomu Oil Palm Plantation in Edo State on Sunday night, destroying over eight vehicles. The assailants killed one person during their invasion of the community, previously known as AT&P, situated in Ovia South West Local Government Area of Edo. The Commissioner of Police in Edo, Mr. Funsho Adegboye, confirmed the incident in a telephone interview with NAN in Benin, stating that the authorities are collaborating with other security organizations and the Okomu Oil Palm Company to address the situation.
