According to sources, a BMW broke through a checkpoint set up by Belgian Police and customs officers along the N81 between Arlon and Messancy, during a drug inspection at the Belgian-Luxembourg border. The event resulted in a car chase. The four people in the car fled to Aubange in Belgium, where they abandoned the vehicle on Avenue de la Gare after it was stopped using a spike strip, which punctured its tires. The suspects then escaped on foot. The Police searched the BMW and found it loaded with explosives. The bomb disposal unit was called and part of the neighborhood was evacuated. The explosives were then safely detonated in a forest near Athus. Three suspects were arrested later and the investigation is still ongoing.
