What happened

According to a security source, an explosion occurred as a roadside improvised explosive device went off in Saladin Governorate. The blast killed an Iraqi soldier and caused serious injuries to four others. The improvised explosive device (IED) detonated near an Iraqi military patrol traveling between the governorates of Diyala and Saladin. The attack occurred within Saladin’s jurisdiction and the authorities secured the area. An investigation has been launched to determine the perpetrators and all the event details.
