Healthcare facilities are increasingly becoming a target for cybercriminals. This time, it was the Central Booking Center (CUP) of Marche that was affected. The region is facing an emergency with the CUP system, which has been out of service for several days, causing severe inconvenience to citizens who want to book medical appointments. At present the online booking system remains largely unavailable. From the initial analysis, the Region believes a hacker attack was the cause of the blackout. The technicians of the Marche Region and the company Gpi, which won the contract for the management of the CUP, are working tirelessly to solve the problem. Currently, it is possible to book medical services in person. The CUP expects the system will be restored by Thursday, May 23. In the meantime, the region is informing citizens about the progress and the fact that the archived data has not been violated.
