Yemen: One fatality reported in military convoy attack

A Southern Transitional Council Forces member was killed and four were wounded when an explosive device detonated near a military convoy in Wadi Omran, Modiya district, east of Abyan Governorate, amidst a security operation involving government forces. Local reports suggested that an explosive device was positioned on a principal road leading to Wadi Omran, known as a significant stronghold of al-Qaeda within the Abyan Governorate and Modiya area. According to local sources, counterterrorism and public security units have entered the Wadi Omran, with deployment in several locations throughout the valley.
