Nigeria: Mosque targeted by HME

According to police, an explosion occurred at a mosque after a man detonated a homemade explosive device in Kano state, northern Nigeria. The explosion killed 8 people and injured 16 others, as well as causing serious damage to the mosque.
The police spokesman reported that a man attacked the mosque because of a family disagreement in an attempt to hit his family members who were praying in the building at the time. The attacker detonated a homemade explosive device (HME) in the mosque wounding 24 worshippers, 8 of whom died in hospital later.
