What happened

According to police, an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blast occurred in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh. The explosion killed a woman who was collecting tendu leaves near Mallur village within the boundaries of Gangaloor police station when she stepped on the device triggering the blast. The explosion site is about 20 km from Pidia village, where 12 Naxalites were killed in a clash with security personnel the day before.
