What happened

An explosion occurred as a roadside improvised explosive device went off in Borno. The explosion killed seven people, including a telecommunications expert. The blast occurred when the victims’ vehicles stepped on the explosive device between Dikwa and the village of Logomani, about 80 km from Maiduguri. The episode follows a similar event that occurred a week before, in which a vehicle carrying members of the Civilian Joint Task Force exploded on the same road, killing 10 people.
