What happened

Vapor elimination tests are a crucial step in determining the time needed for aircraft to replace chemical vapor with safe air. Recently, the NGAP team has completed a series of rigorous tests on a B-52H, thus offering essential data to protect the crew in situations of imminent chemical attacks. The primary objective is to improve mission endurance and operational flexibility. This process involves the injection of a chemical vapor simulant before takeoff, followed by careful monitoring of concentrations during flight. At the end of the mission, the sensors are replaced to measure accurately the vapor still inside the aircraft, thus ensuring an accurate assessment of the risks to the crew during and after a chemical attack.
