The Africa CDC’s Weekly Event Based Surveillance Report – Africa CDC Epidemic Intelligence Report (28 April 2024) indicates that the Ministry of Health has reported 11 new suspected cases and no new fatalities due to yellow fever across three counties in Western Equatoria state. To date, there have been 115 reported cases (3 confirmed and 112 suspected) and six deaths (with a case fatality rate of 5.2%) from yellow fever in six counties of Western Equatoria State, South Sudan: Ezo (11 cases), Ibba (4), Maridi (4), Mvolo (2), Nzara (11), Tambura (26), and Yambio (57). Among these cases, children under five years of age constitute 10%.
