The Africa CDC’s Weekly Event-Based Surveillance Report indicates that the Ministry of Health (MoH) has reported 782 cases (618 suspected, 164 probable) and one new death (Case Fatality Rate: 0.1%) of dengue fever across all 13 regions of Burkina Faso. This represents a 96% decrease in new cases since the last report. To date, there have been 21,352 cases (16,418 suspected, 4,934 probable) and 38 deaths (Case Fatality Rate: 0.2%) reported this year. The Center (12,782 cases; 14 deaths) and Haut Bassin (2,675 cases; 9 deaths) regions account for 72% of the total cases and 61% of the deaths. The ongoing outbreak began in September 2023.
