What happened

The Africa CDC’s Weekly Event Based Surveillance Report – Africa CDC Epidemic Intelligence Report (28 April 2024) indicates that the Ministry of Health reported 200 new confirmed cholera cases and no new deaths across eight provinces. This represents an 18% decrease in new cases since the last report. To date, there have been 7,257 confirmed cases and 11 deaths (CFR: 0.1%) from cholera in eight out of ten provinces in Mozambique, marking a prolonged outbreak that began in October 2023.
