The Africa CDC’s Weekly Event Based Surveillance Report – Africa CDC Epidemic Intelligence Report (28 April 2024) indicates that the Ministry of Health in Comoros has reported 729 new confirmed cases and 16 new deaths (CFR: 2.2%) due to cholera across three regions. There has been a 26% reduction in the number of new cases reported since the last update. In total, there have been 2,584 confirmed cases and 61 deaths, which corresponds to a case fatality rate (CFR) of 2.4%, from the Mwali, Ndzuwani, and Ngazidja regions. Notably, 71% of the cases have been reported from the Ndzuwani region.
