Local authorities have reported that a member of a self-defence group, also known as a vigilante, was killed following the detonation of an improvised explosive device in the Far North Region. Members of the vigilante group were on a routine morning patrol in the Touroua locality of the region when they inadvertently stepped on the device, resulting in its detonation.
