General Dynamics European Land Systems (GDELS) presented the 10×10 Piranha Heavy Mission Carrier (HMC), a new variant for multifaceted military missions including direct and indirect fire, air defense, and tactical bridging. This model boasts a gross vehicle weight of 40 tonnes and a 17-tonne payload capacity, enhanced by a 10×10 all-wheel-drive power driveline and a unique multi-link suspension system that facilitates minimal axle loads, high cross-country mobility, and trench crossing. According to GDELS VP Thomas Kauffmann, the Piranha HMC caters to global demands for versatile armored vehicles, including the need for evolving payload and space requirements.
