According to the Southern African Development Community (SADC), three Tanzanian soldiers were killed and three others wounded when a hostile mortar fire landed near their camp in the Democratic Republic of Congo. They belonged to a Southern African peacekeeping force stationed in the DRC, assisting government forces in the conflict against M23 rebels in the unstable eastern region. According to a Congolese security source, the Tanzanian casualties occurred at the same camp.
