The French Minister of the Armed Forces, Lecornu, announced a new production cycle of tritium, essential for the manufacture of nuclear weapons, using the two civilian reactors of the state company EDF. Lecornu visited the Civaux nuclear power plant in southwestern France, which will produce tritium for the army. The latter will be produced on the premises of the Commissariat à l’énergie atomique (CEA), the French institute for nuclear scientific and industrial research.
