What happened

China has announced plans to restrict environmentally hazardous substances in household electrical appliances. China’s Ministry of Industry and Information (MIIT) has proposed on february 2024 a mandatory national standard (GB) aimed at establishing energy-saving and environmental protection specifications for household and similar electrical appliances. If approved, the standard is expected to come into force 36 months after its approval.
