A gas explosion at the Xieqiao coal mine in Anhui Province, China, left 7 miners dead and 2 others trapped underground. The incident occurred while 24 miners were working in the mine shaft. Twenty-two miners escaped safely to the surface, but seven of the eight seriously injured miners succumbed to their injuries.
