What happened

Nine police officers are tending to injuries after their armored personnel carrier was struck by a roadside bomb in the Welmerer area, Hagadera, Garissa County. The officers, part of the elite Special Operations Group, were traveling in a two-vehicle convoy when the attack occurred. The APC sustained damage from an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) planted on the road. Authorities attribute this incident, along with several others in the region, to al Shabaab militants.
