According to the Pakistani army statement, at least 12 individuals lost their lives and 39 others sustained injuries during a terrorist attack in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan provinces. Among the deceased were 10 security personnel and law enforcement agents. No group or individual has claimed responsibility for the attack. However, the area where the attack took place was previously a stronghold of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), a group that has carried out multiple attacks targeting security forces in recent years.
Meanwhile, government forces rejected 51 terrorist attacks aimed at interrupting the polls for the general election in the country, and five terrorists were killed during various operations. It was stated that many potential threats were neutralised through proactive intelligence manoeuvres and swift action, underscoring the unwavering commitment of the security agencies to protect the democratic rights of citizens.
