France and Bulgaria have entered into an agreement to foster bilateral cooperation in nuclear energy. This includes collaboration on Small Modular Reactors (SMRs), creating a European supply chain, and aspects of the nuclear construction program. They are also participants in the European Nuclear Energy Alliance, aiming to promote bilateral cooperation in nuclear energy construction across the bloc. Both nations will collaborate across all nuclear energy sectors as Bulgaria aims to expedite the development of new reactors at the Kozloduy nuclear power plant.
